About

Our History

Richard Carleton founded Proto Service Inc. in 2002 and has been running it successfully ever since. Proto Service Inc. entered the market as a full-service short-run assembly provider. Richard discovered a gap in the assembly market between development and full production, so he started Proto Service Inc. to meet the needs of this stage in the development process of a product.

In 2014, the company began doing work in the repair market, and again found there was very little for support when it comes to repairing commercial equipment down to the component level. Driven to meet the needs of our customers and the market, we created a dedicated service line to provide repair, modification, and refurbishment services.

Our list of happy customers grows every day, we look forward to meeting new people and new projects.

We Keep You Running

Our goal is to provide our clients with speed, capability, flexibility, and quality that they cannot find anywhere else. Our service offerings make us an ideal partner for any manufacturing or electronics company. We provide quality quick-turnaround electronic prototyping and assembly services, as well as rework and product testing. We also provide repair services for the times when production stops. Our Process:

Quotes, PO’s, Shipping, and Payment:

  • After request is submitted, a confirmation email will be sent.
  • After all necessary files have been submitted, the quote will be finalized and delivered.
  • If quote is accepted, we need a PO and any required kits/boards to be shipped to our office.
  • If Proto Service is providing parts, we will order at this time. All lead times begin after we have received ALL parts.
  • Upon project completion, payment is to be made via credit card or agreed PO terms.

File Requirements:

  • Assembly Jobs: We will need your files (including bill of material and silk screens) 48 hours before your assembly is scheduled to start.
  • Repair Jobs: We will need all available schematics and paperwork on the equipment.

Providing Kits:

  • Each bag of parts should be clearly labeled with the corresponding part number and quantity.
  • All kits must be packed sufficiently to protect against damage from shock, static, or moisture.
  • Make sure to provide 1-% overage to all small parts.
